Good trout, by Wolfgang Fabisch

Fly fishing in Berchtesgaden, Germany

Good Trout

Berchtesgaden is always worth a trip, just like that, or to fly-fish the various rivers. In fast water, the nymph is also a good choice.

The Krimmler Ache, fly fishing by Wolfgang Fabisch

Instagram picture 240321

The Krimmler Ache in Austria

A nice area for fly fishing in the Alps. The Krimmler Ache ist ein schöner Fluss in einem Hochtal. The Krimmler Ache is a beautiful river in a high valley. However, the way there is quite exhausting. It is not possible to arrive by car, but by a cab.

Fly fishing in fantastic surroundings

Picture of the week, Fabisch Fly Fishing, Week 42 - 2020

Mountain lake in South Tyrol

The fact that South Tyrol has fantastic regions and nature is well known. Also that there are many waters for fly fishing, but you have to find them first! But then you can expect incredible fly fishing.

Picture of the week, Fabisch Fly Fishing, Week 29 -  2020

The home of the large brown trout

From 2021 I will offer again fly fishing courses in Berchtesgaden. There will be two different course variants. Four days for starters with little or no knowledge, three days for advanced learners.

Even in this time there are still positive experiences

Picture of the week, Fabisch Fly Fishing, Week 18 -  2020

The Wiesent holds a lot of large trout

Fortunately, even in complicated times like now, there are positive experiences. This certainly includes catching such a beautiful brown trout. I wish you all patience and positive experiences.

Picture of the week, Fabisch Fly Fishing, Week 17 -  2020

A karst river in Franconia, the Pegnitz

The Pegnitz in Franconia is a karst river in Franconia. Not as well known as the Wiesent, it has an absolutely equivalent Mayfly hatch!

Somehow somewhat unreal ... when fly fishing

Picture of the week, Fabisch Fly Fishing, Week 15 -  2020

It's seems all a bit unreal

The way to the fish water, here to the Wiesent river, seems very unreal. Nature simply continues to function, probably better without us than with us.

Still a happy Easter for everyone.

Angling or fly fishing, is there a difference?

How elite is fly fishing still?

is there a difference?

Actually, angling is the term that combines almost all possible variations of non-commercial fishing. Fly fishing is only a very small part compared to other types of fishing.

Fly fishing on the Doubs

Picture of the week, Fabisch Fly Fishing, Week 03 -  2020

The mill in the picture was our accommodation many years ago

Fly fishing on the Doubs is certainly not easy, but it is one of the rivers that should be visited. However, it makes sense to familiarize yourself with the local rules beforehand.

Steelhead Fly Fishing 2019

Weekly picture at Fabisch Fly Fishing, Week 39 -  2019

It does not always have to be a steelhead

Unfortunately, I can not be there this year, but I'm looking forward to the reports of my friends. Sometimes fishing on Steelhead is very tough, but there are ways to dodge.

In springtime on the river Wiesent

Weekly picture at Fabisch Fly Fishing, Week 14 -  2019

Fly fishing in the spring on the Wiesent has a special charm
Beautiful light in spring at the river Wiesent
The transition from the end of winter into spring sometimes takes only two weeks. The warmth of the sun is like a promise of the coming, beautiful months. Let us use this time, whether in fly fishing or simply in nature.

Anticipation is the Greatest Joy

Weekly picture at Fabisch Fly Fishing, Week 09 -  2019

A really big trout on Nmphe in Canada

It will take a while until the big trouts can be caught  again. We look forward to it and look after our fish locally. Let's see how the damage caused by the cormorants counts. I wish you all a great fishing in 2019.

The Area of Berchtesgaden

Weekly picture at Fabisch Fly Fishing, Week 05 -  2019
Fly fishing in Berchtesgaden
Nice mountain view in Berchtesgaden
A long time ago I was very often in Berchtesgaden for fly fishing. I have given many fly fishing lessons there. In 2017 we fished the Achen after a long break. Berchtesgaden is still worth a trip, not just to fly fishing there.

Hibernation on the Wiesent River

Weekly picture at Fabisch Fly Fishing, Week 04 -  2019

silent wiesent
Winter rest at the Wiesent
At the River Wiesent prevails at the moment the hibernation. The brown trout have already spawned, with the grayling it will take a while until the spawning business begins.
Just over a month, then fishing for brown trout is allowed again, so fast is the hibernation over.
