The Thompson River is a tributary of the Fraser River, by Wolfgang Fabisch

The image shows the Thompson River with very low water levels.

The Thomson at low water

The water is low and very clear, not good conditions for fly fishing. However, the river is usually closed under these conditions.

Our Home in British Columbia Canada, by Wolfgang Fabisch

Enough space, even on long journeys

Caravan and Dodge RAM
With this vehicle combination you can get pretty far in Canada. The road can be left without the caravan. But be careful if you get stuck...

With the racing bike in Franconia, by Wolfgang Fabisch

Uphill downhill in Franconia

On the way in Franconia
Of course, you can't compare Franconia with the Alps. However, in Franconia you get up altitude very quickly. Inexperienced people will probably push the bike more often.

Good trout, by Wolfgang Fabisch

Fly fishing in Berchtesgaden, Germany

Good Trout

Berchtesgaden is always worth a trip, just like that, or to fly-fish the various rivers. In fast water, the nymph is also a good choice.

One of the most famous places in Vancouver - Canada, by Wolfgang Fabisch

Canada Square, Vancouver Canada

The most famous place in Vancouver?

Actually, it almost doesn't matter when you visit Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada. Okay, good rain gear is a must in the winter time. You should also always have an umbrella with you in summer. Whatever the weather in Vancouver, there's always something going on.

It's not a good idea to fall into the water here, by Wolfgang Fabisch

The Bulkley River out of control

The Bulkley River at Moricetown

The Bulkley River is a large river, so it's like that at high tide. Falling into the water at this water level will probably result in the death of the person!

Western Canada in autumn 2021 with Wolfgang Fabisch, part 4

The picture of the week 49 - 2021, Fabisch Fly Fishing

Before I went home, I really wanted to fish on the Bulkley River. Unfortunately, there were a few complications again. Finally, I finally reached Germany unharmed.

A small river for fly fishing

The drive on the Canada Highway leads into a fantastic mountain world. 1800 km, however, is quite a distance to Prince George. From there another 700 km to the south took us to a small steelhead river in BC.

The fresh snow didn't make the journey easier

The change in weather warned me to start the journey south. If you get stuck in the snow on the Alaska Highway, you have a real problem. Part two of the trip.

Weather almost like summer

Whether it was a good idea to visit West Canada during Corona times can be found in my weekly picture in the next few weeks. Here is part one of the trip.

The Krimmler Ache in Austria

A nice area for fly fishing in the Alps. The Krimmler Ache ist ein schöner Fluss in einem Hochtal. The Krimmler Ache is a beautiful river in a high valley. However, the way there is quite exhausting. It is not possible to arrive by car, but by a cab.

Not a good place to capsize

Let's see how Corona continues this year. At this time last year everything was still normal. Whether the long-haul trips will work again in 2021, how the vaccinations will continue, etc. We don't have to do much more than to wait. Happy 2021 everyone!

The Wiesent with high water, almost a lake, by Wolfgang Fabisch

The picture of the week 06 - 2021, Fabisch Fly Fishing

The Wiesent near Pretzfeld with high water

In the lower part the Wiesent has a lot of space to spread out. The valley there is over 1.5 km wide! The flood can spread their without causing damage. In summer, canals provide irrigation for the meadows.
